Bansulli Trailer (Official 69th Venice Film festival 2012 selection)
After a decade long civil war which cost more than 13,000 lives, the Maoists have come into the frontline, to compete in the national election for the Constituent Assembly. Amid the political changes going to take place in the pristine kingdom of the himalaya, the life of BIJULI, a 12 years old girl in the remote west of Karnali, is also about change forever.
BANSULLI is a journey of hopes and desires, against the social stigma that still prevails in Nepal.
Basulli (The Flute) selected in Venice Film Festival
Nepali movie ‘Bansuli’ has been selected in the 69th Venice Film Festival, to be held in Italy from August 29 to September 8, 2012. The director of the movie, Min Bahadur Bham, has also written the story and the screenplay of the movie.
The short movie produced by Black Horse Pictures in association with Underground Talkies, is 15 minutes long. Out of the total of 1752 short movies submitted, ‘Bansuli’ was one of the 18 movies selected in the festival. The movie features a 12-year-old Bijuli from remote Jumla in Nepal. The movie features Nikita Budha Thapa, Ghanashyam Giri, Naresh Bhandari and Hira Bijuli Nepali among others.
